Capu-cell is an effective material when used as a hydrophilic foam dressing. It is safe and comfortable to use on delicate skin tissues and will not irritate the affected area. Capu-Cell is capable of soaking up to 15 times its own weight in fluids, but it can also be re-engineered to meet a range of absorbencies. Additionally, the polymer matrix itself can be used with a variety of medicinal agents, including antibiotics, without a breakdown of the material. It can also be used to apply soaps, pastes, powders and antiseptic washes.

Other medicinal advantages of using Capu-Cell as a hydrophilic foam dressing are the ability to sterilize the dressing, its antimicrobial properties and its ability to retain moisture to keep from drying out. This soft, pliable material can also be fabricated and molded into a variety of shapes and sizes.
